Client: Cyclone Creative

The Brief

Cyclone Creative, a full-service creative agency specialising in strategy, digital and print design, and branding, required a comprehensive website redesign. Their existing website was outdated and misaligned with their new branding, creating a perception that the agency was a low-cost option. This was attracting budget-conscious clients, which conflicted with the agency’s goal of being seen as a high-value creative partner. Additionally, the agency sought to empower its team with the ability to manage content updates independently, reducing reliance on the creative team and eliminating bottlenecks.

Originally from Finland, Naomi Wilson studied graphic design and illustration at Hyper Island in Stockholm. She has been nominated for mi quis viverra ornare, eros dolor interdum nulla, ut commodo diam libero vitae erat, and has given talks at  nunc ut sem vitae risus tristique posuere across the United States and Europe.
The SOLUTION

The website was designed from scratch to align more closely with Cyclone Creative’s new branding centred on being culturally disruptive. The new design struck the right balance between showcasing the agency’s portfolio and reflecting its bold style and vibe. Animated hand-drawn icons and interactive elements were incorporated to create a unique and engaging user experience. The migration from Wix to Webflow provided the team with the ability to independently manage content updates, while the scalable platform supported the agency’s long-term goals. The updated structure improved accessibility to key services and case studies, enhancing both the visual appeal and functionality of the site.

The PROBLEM STATEMENT
The STEPS
01.
Gathering Client and Stakeholder Insights

The redesign process began with collecting valuable feedback from both existing clients and internal stakeholders. A short online survey was sent to a select group of clients, aiming to identify any gaps or missing information encountered during their first visit to the website. The insights gathered from this survey provided clear direction on what content and features needed to be improved or added to enhance user experience.

02.
Aligning Internal Objectives

A workshop with internal stakeholders was conducted to define key objectives and focus areas for the new website. This collaborative session ensured the redesign was aligned with Cyclone Creative’s strategic goals and vision. The workshop helped clarify how the new site would meet both business and client expectations, establishing a foundation for the redesign.

03.
User Flows and Wireframes

With the insights collected, detailed user flows were developed to map out how visitors would navigate the website. These user flows were designed to create an intuitive layout, guiding users seamlessly to key information and calls to action. Once the user journeys were established, wireframes were created to outline the structure and functionality of the website. These wireframes served as a blueprint for early testing and iteration, ensuring the design effectively showcased the agency’s offerings and met user needs.

04.
Choosing the Platform

To build the website, Webflow was chosen as the platform, replacing the existing Wix setup. Webflow’s CMS capabilities allowed Cyclone Creative’s staff to manage content updates without relying on the creative team, streamlining operations and eliminating bottlenecks during periods of high demand. The platform also provided scalability to support future growth.

05.
Development

Once the wireframes and designs were finalised, the development phase began. The website was built on Webflow, ensuring responsiveness across devices and optimising performance for both desktop and mobile users. Special attention was given to incorporating the custom animated hand-drawn icons and interactive elements that aligned with Cyclone Creative’s brand identity.

A list of key projects was selected for migration during the initial launch phase, highlighting the agency’s diverse capabilities and strengths. After the development was completed, selected staff members were granted access to the CMS to upload content, significantly accelerating the migration process. Before the official launch, a staging link was shared with several existing clients to gather feedback. This allowed for final adjustments, ensuring the website met user expectations and delivered an optimal experience.
