The Department of Health is introducing a state-wide Health Information Exchange (HIE) system to give clinicians secure, real-time access to patient information across Victorian public health services. Replacing outdated methods like faxes and phone calls, the HIE aims to support faster clinical decisions, improve patient safety, and reduce harm. A clear, consistent name and visual identity were needed to drive awareness, support adoption, and align with Brand Victoria guidelines. Deliverables included naming, brand development, key messaging, visual guidelines, and a suite of digital assets for system access points and communication materials.
A brand workshop was conducted with key government stakeholders to align on naming, messaging, and visual direction. This session ensured buy-in across departments and helped define a unified approach to the system’s identity. From there, a clear, future-focused name and visual identity were developed to position the HIE as a trusted, easy-to-use tool for clinicians. Drawing on global examples, the messaging focused on faster access to patient data, improved care, and reduced admin. The identity followed Brand Victoria guidelines and accessibility standards to ensure consistent application across all touchpoints. A set of digital assets was created, including a favicon, login screen skin, desktop widget icon, and stakeholder pack. A flexible visual and messaging system was also developed to support rollout across digital and print channels.
